Important Dates

We follow the CBE traditional calendar. The calendar sets common start and end days, non-instructional days and holidays. For our school’s additional non-instructional days, late entries, early dismissal days and events, see our school calendar page.

The Calgary Board of Education continues to plan for the health measures that may be in place for the next school year. More details will be shared with families before the first day of classes.

First Day of Classes

Our first day of classes is Wed. Sept. 1, and the school office is open to parents on Fri. Aug. 27.

Take a virtual walk with us around some of the main areas of the school to give you a sense of what things look like at Woodman.

School Start & End Times

Woodman School hours have been slightly adjusted for the 2021-2022 school year. The main school doors will open to students at 8:55 am; only students who are participating in a school-sanctioned club, tutorial, band rehearsal or athletic practice will be permitted to enter the school earlier.

The start-of-day times remain the same as 2020-2021, with a warning bell at 9:05 and a start time of 9:08. The end-of-day times have changed by a few minutes for 2021-2022: Monday-Thursday, 3:34 pm and Friday, 1:14 pm.

See the 2021-2022 bell schedule on on our Contact Us page.

School Supply Lists

By July 1, this section will include a link to suggested, optional student supply lists that will be helpful to reference in preparation for the return to classes.  It is not required that students come to school on the first day with all of these items.  Families are encouraged to recycle materials from previous years.  Those who are unable to bring their own suggested supplies will be provided them by the school, while following health protocols.  Every attempt is being made to reduce the sharing of materials. Please ensure that personal supplies are well labelled with the student name and grade.

We are a school that follows the traditional calendar. View our School Calendar.

Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families starting in October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.

You can find more information on the CBE school fees and waivers page.

Do You Have a MyCBE / PowerSchool Parent Account?

Parents who have not already done so, must create an account in MyCBE / PowerSchool to:

  • Pay fees or apply for a waiver

  • Register for transportation and lunch supervision

  • View student progress

To create a new account, go to www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe and click on Create Parent Account. You will need to have your child(ren)’s CBE Student ID Number and use your email on file at the school.

Yellow School Bus Transportation

Yellow school bus routes for the 2021-22 school year are created over the summer and based on the addresses submitted before the pre-registration deadline in June. Transportation continues to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing stop with available space. Processing times could be up to six weeks at the beginning of the school year due to volume.

More information about 2021-22 transportation service levels and proposed fees are posted on the CBE website.

Your bus stop location and time will be available in your MyCBE / PowerSchool account by mid-August.

Conditional riders can also register using MyCBE / PowerSchool. Applications will be considered after eligible riders registrations have been processed.

Learn more about transportation on the CBE website.
